Tips Live Best Event Filming

There is no storyboard, no second catch, there may be a schedule, but it doesn't have to be rock. When recording live events, you need to know how to handle the unpredictable, which can cause stress if you're not done.

We play our best live film experience at film conferences and music concerts with at least two inhabited cameras. We make mistakes and miss opportunities, but we win our mistakes. In this article I want to share some tips that we have learned about the preparation and success of direct photography.

These tips may seem obvious, but they are very important if you want a stress-free photo so that you can focus on the creativity and perfection in each photo.

Where to be:

Remember that after a brief overview of the location before the event with more distance you can capture more audio and video information with the camera. Ideally, it is suitable for wide angle shots and indoors. A close-up is more emotional because the public is more exposed to the expression of the participant.

The wide-angle images, however, give an impression that is related to the context of the event, d. H. How many people go to where it happened, and so on. For this reason, wide-angle shooting is also called "set-shooting" because it gives viewers a complete idea of where the event is taking place. The best choice is to have two cameras, one behind the key, when recording a hand-held recording.

What to shoot:

When you plan to record a live event, consider ways to collect images and sounds to provide the most complete information to the public.

Here is a list of recordings that you can take during an event. Adjust your specific needs.

Lead actor: discs of speakers, musicians or moderators who try to make as many close-ups as possible from a stable position.

Role B: never underestimate the power of images to support your storytelling process. Make a good selection of photos and various activities during a live event and get as many B-roles as possible. This is a series of loosely structured snapshots that simplify the editing process through pauses or speeches with other relevant snapshots that look great.

Vox Pops: this is a commonly used method used in live films where a journalist and cameraman ask ordinary people on the street to spontaneously express their views on a subject. You can ask them a brief question about the event and explain their attendance, as well as anything more personal about the representation of the event.

Lighting + white balance:

Check the lighting of the room. If this is not enough, you must get permission to bring your own lighting fixtures. Check the appearance through the lens of the camera. Do not use your eyes to judge that the camera does not fit as well as our eyes. In addition to lighting, make sure that the camera takes on the right color. To save extra work in post-production, use a white card / sheet of paper and hold it in front of the lens of your camera to adjust the white balance. Do this for each camera (if you use multiple cameras) to ensure that each camera captures the same color temperature.

Search the schedule:

Talk to the organizer for as much information as possible about the time and date. Even if they only have a rough idea, some things are etched in stone. For example, brides and grooms are supposed to go to church and reception / party at certain times. Knowing these times allows you to plan the length of certain parts of the day and get the most out of your cassette or card room.

When you talk to customers, you can discuss what you expect from each other. Customers may want you to record specific aspects of the event and you must tell them what you need and how you plan to work. In this discussion you can formulate and change the schedule that meets the needs of both parties.

Make a checklist:

Finally, you want to perform and discover in one place
